Each room will provide our school community the opportunity to follow our program’s vision of “Cultivating Compassionate Leaders.” Whether it’s our gymnasium, science lab, library, or music studio, each space is intended to build strong character qualities for our school community. Our new building will be far more than a larger space for our older students. Our established preschool program will continue to use it’s beloved existing campus in the Main Building, the Big Red Barn, and the Dahlhouse. This will allow us to provide much needed space for our older students, while remaining on the same shared campus as one unified program (Age 1 - 8th grade). Our new building will be located on the southern corner of campus, near the intersection of High Point Road and Mid Town Road. While we’re thankful to use this charming space, we know our older students require a separate, age-appropriate building to facilitate their incredible love for learning. Currently, our preschool through 8th Grade students reside in the Main Building and Big Red Barn. In 2020, Hickory Hill Academy leaders recognized that our programs were growing quickly and we would soon need more space, especially for our older students. Hickory Hill Academy is expanding! We’re thrilled to share that our new building is currently on track for a Fall 2023 opening. The nursery environment is rich with milestone moments, abundant enthusiasm, and genuine affection. Parents and teachers work together to develop individual sleeping, eating, and playtime plans for each baby, and teachers inform parents of the child's daily experiences, including nap, feeding, and diapering details. Twice weekly, the children enjoy attending our Bucky Beats percussion music class. When weather restricts outdoor activities, the children enjoy a change of venue in Little Engine That Could our smaller of two gyms, where the children have extra space for playing with large toys. The children enjoy daily stroller rides around the eight-acre campus, time on the Infant/Toddler playground, and plenty of floor time and cuddle time with their teachers. Two teachers are devoted to the children's care, with a third teacher sharing time between the nursery and the adjoining toddler room. Up to eight children, six weeks to a year old, attend the nursery each day. Corgiville Fair Nursery is located in the lower level of The Dahlhouse and nurtures the youngest learners at Kids Express Learning Center.
